Daily responsibilities to support the DOD Environmental Management program include:
Regulatory/administrative compliance with National Environmental Policy Act and other applicable laws in accordance with current Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and policies to guarantee health and safety of personnel and the environment. Safe overall quality control and execution in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Department of Transportation (DOT), International Air Transport Association (IATA), and International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) policies.
Contract and document management of hazardous material/waste products and assure generators of an expedient and compliant pick-up, including compatibility within the transport vehicle(s). Ensure Land Disposal Restrictions and environmental time sensitive reporting requirements are met in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. Carry out assigned waste minimization and environmental sampling activities. Accomplish and maintain required training.

In my role with WRAIR, ensured cradle to grave daily accountability of thousands of hazardous substances and material transactions management. Conducted routine inventory controls of chemicals throughout the facility and maximizing usage of existing resources. Coordinated with scientific teams with reliable information on alternative chemicals and chemical requirements. Experience with supply principles, concepts, and methodologies in inventory, cataloging and supply program operations, including approvals on procurement requests into the General Funds Enterprise Business Systems (GFEBS) and Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS). Manage programs, projects or personnel at times in a supervisory or leadership capacity. As the Regulated/Hazardous Medical Waste Technician, ensured packaging materials are readily available, containers were properly packaged, secured and labeled to protect personnel, the facility, and the vendor upon pickup.
