Evaluator Comments:
Rachel has been an important member of our Work Study program. She is trained as a job coach and has worked at several work sites within the community. At each work based experience, Rachel collected data, modeled work tasks, took copious notes and supported each student emotionally. Currently she is coaching two students at a work site while providing daily instruction to a remote learning student. She implements teacher prepared lessons and will differentiate a lesson when necessary for her student. Her calmness immediately puts her student at ease making it a welcoming and supportive learning environment.
Rachel is a collaborative team player. She is creative and has made manipulatives for each student to use. She is open to new ideas, takes constructive criticism and uses it in a productive way. Rachel is patient with a calm demeanor who truly cares about each student’s education and well being. She views each student as an individual and works hard to ensure that each student becomes an independent learner.
Rachel is reliable and dependable. She uses a variety of strategies when assisting our students. Developing new tasks for a job site, writing task analyses for specific tasks and following the prompting hierarchy are strengths for Rachel. Our students enjoy their time with Rachel and have benefitted from the time and insight that she provides.
