Addendum to Resume – Michael Bryant

Prior to my 20 years at Newport Group, I held the following positions.

Convenience Store Industry

I owned my own store in Ashville, NC

I was responsible for everything including Payroll, Accounts Payable, and general accounting to produce monthly performance, and profit and loss statements.

With Little General, 7-Eleven, and Circle K:

I was a store manager, district manager, and division manager. Each of those positions required attention to detail, accounting paperwork and financial statements on a monthly and annual basis.

Shrinkage is a big issue with convenience stores, thus a routine reconciliation of the dollar value of items on the shelf versus the current book value of our inventory was necessary. I completed unscheduled audits as well supervised monthly company audits.

Fast Food

I was part owner in a 6-store hamburger chain: I was responsible for recruiting and training managers to run the business. Part of their training included weekly sales recaps that I ultimately used to prepare entries into our general ledger. This had to be balanced weekly and produced monthly and annual performance reports that included profit and loss. Additionally, I handled the accounts payable and payroll submission to our provider who printed the checks.

In all these positions, I had a variety of accounting responsibilities, all of which required attention to detail, and the need to identify discrepancies and determine the cause and if possible, the solution to fix.

Addendum #2 to Resume for Michael Bryant

In the last 15 months I have had two part-time jobs, and two temporary positions.

The temporary positions were with Domino’s Pizza & Pizza Hut pizza. In both cases, I was a Delivery Driver taking phone orders to customers’ houses.

While working at Domino’s, I fell walking up to a customer’s home injuring my left arm and hitting my head on the sidewalk. Due to that fall, a couple of small drops of blood got on the outside of the box.

I was not aware of this, however, the customer complained, and I was terminated immediately.

It took some time to recover – the shoulder was dislocated, and two rotator tendons had to be re-attached.

Next, I took another delivery position with Pizza Hut that lasted about 3 months until I left to go to work for a company named Sun Print Management. This turned out to be a temporary position.

Mainly I did data entry of copy counts. Additionally, we kept track of printers in and out as they were rentals.

For the last couple of months, I have been trying to pin down a Bookkeeping, accounting, or data entry position. Most have been either short term, too far from where I am living, or the pay was too low.

There seems to be a lot of competition for these positions.
