ASATT Certified Anesthesia Technician. I have been an Anesthesia Technician since 02/2003 working in highly technical, high volume OR's and Surgi-Centers with adult and pediatric patients. Performing decontamination, processing and sterilization functions of anesthesia equipment. Responsible for the basic set-up and maintenance of anesthesia equipment and supplies. Preparation of IV infusions and Arterial lines. Operation and troubleshooting of common physiologic monitors. Functions as a member of the Perioperative team, providing support to all members of the patient care team. Responsible for securing of necessary equipment, instruments and supplies for perioperative procedures Assisting the Anesthesia Provider throughout all phases of the provision of anesthesia to patients undergoing surgical procedures, including setting up for the procedure and the operation, maintenance, and servicing of all anesthesia equipment, managing patients in various other hospital locations, i.e., Radiology and Labor and Delivery. This also involves various duties related to ordering and managing general anesthesia and pharmacy supplies.
Transporting patients to and from operating rooms with and without the assistance of a Provider. Prepare and set up all required anesthesia-related equipment, including anesthesia machines, physiologic monitors, transducers, and pediatric and adult equipment. Prepare invasive monitoring lines including arterial, CVP, and PA lines.
Appling monitoring devices to the patient and able to operate all common physiological monitors. Assists with proper positioning of the patient for invasive monitoring line insertion, introduction of spinal anesthesia, and induction of anesthesia. Assists the Anesthesia provider with invasive line placement and induction of anesthesia.
Competent with the following equipment; GE, Drager, Philips monitors, I-Stat, Hot Line and Rapid Transfusers (Level One), transport monitors, Hemicue and glucometer Knowledge of basic anatomy, medical terminology and treatment procedures commonly used in the administration anesthesia. Understanding of aseptic and infection control and can demonstrate sterile protocols.

Demonstrates service-oriented behaviors that include culturally sensitive good manners, respect, and polite communications. Openness to creative and innovative approaches to providing service. Able to provide off-hour standby coverage and call for emergency surgical procedures. Excellent attendance and work record. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
