Information Systems Technician:
Managed communication operations and information networks aboard Navy vessels and shore installations, and played a vital role in everything from electronic mail systems to special intelligence and information warfare systems. Chief Petty Officer (Senior Enlisted E-7)
Direct supervisor of junior enlisted personnel. Managed both classified and unclassified telecommunication centers at shore locations and on sea based units around the globe. Informed and advised the division officers, department heads and executive staff on the day to day operations of the departments I was assigned to. Spearheaded numerous information system upgrades across multiple platforms and coordinated with civilian contractors on the best practices of running computer network systems. During my final career deployment to Afghanistan from May 2010 to March 2011, I lead a team of technicians that conducted multiple system upgrades, repairs and replacements of communications equipment and robotics in theater which resulted in improved communications, safer disposal of hazards and better battlefield awareness throughout the theater of operations. During battle center operations I directed the collection and organization of field intelligence and combat data that lead to improved troop safety and operational success.
