Role: Underwriting Support Analyst

My role as an Underwriting Support Analyst in Argo Group of Insurance was to Support the Allied medical unit, in which we were dealing policies of different types of facilities and the insured who has insured for health care.

Responsibilities

Policy administration includes entering policy details such as insured name, address, limit, deductible, sub coverages into specific software’s (CAPS system and PAdmin) and preparing and sending policy quote, binder, and policy document to the brokers.

Facilities include adult day care centers, residential facilities such as assisted living, independent living home, hospice care and group home for the developmentally disabled adults.

Handled property and casualty insurance (liability insurance).

Calculate rate and premiums based on no: of beds, and ensure the premiums based on the medical history, life history and revenue.

Administering and entering data of NEW and RENEWAL POLICIES.

Supporting underwriters in policy documentation and follow ups.

Responsible for colony specialty underwriting, primary and excess casualty, property, and professional liability coverage.

Handled INSPECTION ORDER reports for evaluating risk, in which we process inspection reports to inspect the facility, location and the insured policy matters.

BOOKING and ISSUANCE of new and renewal policies.

Preparing LOSS RUN reports to record the claims history.

Responsible for Workers Compensation claim information and documentation.

Handling claims

Compensation to be paid for the losses incurred by the insured.

Receiving notice of claims from insured and ensure and evaluate whether a loss is covered or not.

The products handled are general liability (GL) and professional liability (PL) and property coverages of allied health care individuals and organizations.

Provide general, clerical, and administrative support to the department as required.

Respond to underwriters’ requests for policy cancelations, endorsements, loss runs, recommendation letters and copies of policies.

Policy QUALITY CHECK and releasing the policy final to the agent/broker.
