Resume:

I am an RVT with a huge interest in Anesthesia and Emergency medicine. I have been working in emergency and critical medicine since September 2020 and I have loved every minute of it! I have 3 years experience working in rDVM practice with a keen interest in anesthesia. I have over six years of experience working in shelter environment, which taught me how to work in a high volume fast paced environment with little resources/staff to help. Shelter medicine is emergency medicine on a budget. I learned how to do exams, medicate patients and perform minor procedures by myself. Using low stress handling techniques, I am able to instill confidence in the patients I work with, helping them feel safe with little to no stress. I am Fear Free certified as well as Low Stress Handling certified. These fear free and low stress handling skills, also allow me to help educate clients in the post-op period with medicating, and caring for their pet using low stress handling techniques. Treating their animals emotional state as well as the physical one. I have passion for learning and can easily adapt to new environments. I look forward to having the opportunity to interview for the Animal Emergency Clinic RVT position.

RVT in Anesthesiologist Department

Quickly learned more in-depth anesthetic monitoring; using MAC to control anesthetic depth as well as physical signs of the animal. Taking in consideration of analgesic drugs and CRIs used, as well as understanding surgical stimulation to keep my patient at appropriate levels of anesthesia.

I left this job as it was not feasible to drive downtown and deal with Toronto traffic. Sometimes being away from home for 15+ hours due to Toronto traffic does not work for my schedule as a mom and pet parent.
