Telecommunications Specialist November 2000 – Present

Leverages electronic testing equipment to diagnose and solve communication systems issues and maintains records of performance, operations and equipment inventories.

Installs, troubleshoots, repairs and redesigns electronic computer systems to support communication and information exchange.

Provides information technology and telecommunications functions and services which support programs essential to Air National Guard daily operations, training, and readiness missions.

Communicates effectively between operations and maintenance during live missions and training as the communications focal point (CFP). Communicates mission needs to the correct subject matter expert (SME).

Conducts quality assurance (QA) checks of maintenance for compliance, including but not limited to documenting equipment status, delivering notices to conduct preventative maintenance, and spot-checking areas of obligation.

Identifies potential problems and develops alternative solutions/strategies and recommendations for consideration by management.

Relates mission requirements to existing technology, policies and priorities, systems capabilities, available technology and services, operating practices and procedures, equipment, and staffing requirements, to provide network services that support operational requirements.

Configures hardware and software for Moxa Servers including quarterly firmware updates

Manages team in coordination of annual field training exercises, single and multi-site tactical training missions, and Joint-Force exercises.

Develops, implements, and manages section training plan in accordance with Air Force regulations.

Interfaces with Mission Operations to understand reported issues and diminish downtime by offering technical alternatives.

Extensive experience working with UHF, VHF and HF frequency band radio systems including Motorola APX handheld radios and the Thales AN/PRC 148 Multiband Inter/Intra Team Radio (MBITR) radios.

Familiar with Microsoft 365, Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
