Led an Automation team to convert many excel spreadsheets and business processes to SharePoint lists with a PowerApps admin tool to manage the data and PowerBI reports for management to view data dashboards easier than emailing spreadsheets back and forth. The Data Developer positions allowed me to focus first on creating processes as a team to follow for a standard SDLC. The 7-person team had been developing in a ‘silo’ environment developing on production. Cross-training was also implemented with new iteration processing involving a release team. The environment was SQL databases with several other ASP (classic) web applications supporting it. The applications were converted to the latest .Net framework utilizing the team foundation server and SQL. These last five years, these are the main tasks I worked on:

Design and develop ETL(SSIS) process to load various external data sources (excel, text, CSV, etc.)

Develop a reusable template to automate data transformation, reconciliation, and manipulation.

Perform database and architecture changes (stored procedures, triggers, indexes) to include new and changed business requirements.

Design and develop reports (SSRS) and review prototypes that align with business needs.

When I first started on the Web development team, I was to improve the ETL processes by using SSIS packages in SQL and creating a process monitoring system that logged directly to the MOSS server for on- call employees to track the data load processes. (It is still in use).In the Web developer side of the position, I concentrated on converting the VB6 application’s current Visual Studio framework.

Applications were integrated into our MOSS environments; others support different departments’ needs. Some are strictly web applications, while others are SharePoint parts.

Internal security will be based on the active directory.

A single sign-on environment is being designed for both the internal SharePoint site as well as external sites.
