SUMMARY

I have extensive experience in software design and development in scientific applications, most of it working in the Defense Industry. My considerable software development experience is complemented by experience in project management, including a PMP certification and a Master’s Degree in Engineering Management. Experience covers a broad range of technical application areas of a scientific nature. My most recent experience was as a QA Analyst and Application Developer in the IT Group at MassDOT. EXPERIENCE

2011-2019 MassDOT / IT, Boston, MA

Quality Assurance Analyst and Application Developer in the MassDOT - IT Group. I worked in the IT Group at the Massachusetts Department of Transportation as an Application Developer and a QA Analyst. I developed client server applications for the Mass Aeronautics Group at Logan Airport. In the Mass Aeronautics Group I worked on modernizing the Aeronautics Badging Program that issues and keeps track of badges for all airport personnel including the level and areas of access for each. I managed application development in the Software Development Group writing and updating applications, monitoring progress made, and making recommendations on how to improve applications under development. Software development in Java and ASP.net.

1997-2010 Dynamics Research Corporation, Andover, MA Senior Engineer in the GPS Software Development and Support Group. Analysis, Software Design & Development, and Military Customer Support. Developed software for communicating with and monitoring the operation of military GPS receivers for both internal use and the military GPS user community. Communication with the receiver is via serial interface and Dual Port RAM in a VMEbus (Versa Module Eurocard) environment. Project Manager and software lead for the Serial Test Interface Program (STIP) which monitors and reports on the health and integrity of GPS receivers and receiver boards. Used for GPS unit testing as well as for Product Design and Development, the STIP program tests for the setting of on-board registers and memory locations, receiver key authorization, and verification of proper serial and Dual Port RAM communication prior to product delivery. Software is provided to our military GPS customers and is used extensively by them and others in the military GPS user community. Project Manager for the enhancement and modernization of a VME communication board (VGBB Enhanced). This board provides for serial communication and access to the Dual Port RAM and serial interfaces, signals, discretes, etc., of military GPS receivers. The modernization resulted in a three-fold increase in battery back-up time for the GPS receivers. Software development in C and C++.

1979-1994 MIT Lincoln Laboratory, Lexington, MA

Technical Staff, Field Systems Group.

Worked on the Modernization program for the Kwajalein Radar and Missile Range, Kwajalein, Marshall Islands. Focusing on modernization of the KMCC (Kwajalein Mission Control Center), my responsibilities included conducting research and providing input throughout the computer evaluation and procurement process as well as the conversion, upgrade, and porting of the Real-Time Data Recording and Mission Playback software package and conversion/porting of several radar data handling/processing programs. Developed a real-time data recording and data access package for a newly installed Millimeter Wave

(MMW) radar. The package included plotting of tracking data and plotting of average and peak values, etc. using FFT techniques for much of the data processing. Wrote a trajectory modeling program for the modeling of ballistic trajectories. The method used for constructing trajectories solves a set of first order ordinary differential equations from initial conditions. Developed software to improve the performance and accuracy of radar tracking algorithms used at the Kwajalein Missile Range. Also wrote analysis programs/packages used to evaluate the performance of various radar subsystems.

Software done in C, C++, and Fortran.

1978-1979 Raytheon Company, Sudbury, MA
