The academy was funded by a $640,000 Title V grant which provided an overview of best practices by local colleges and a data survey of Los Angeles Valley College. Outcomes from the academy are to explore the impact of a common calendar, common homework, common final, supplemental workshops, campus tour and study skill videos are to a series of pilot Elementary Algebra courses.

Accelerated Algebra Committee: The committee is tasked to institutionalize the combining of Elementary and Intermediate Algebra in a single semester.
