Operates complex cardiac monitoring systems, including ECG rhythm screens, computerized dysrhythmia detection system, and rhythm printers.
Observes and documents ECG monitors according to established guideline and reports to appropriate staff the necessary information such as patient name, room number, cardiac rhythm, dysrhythmia, and /or life-threatening situation
Maintains equipment and monitors (including proper cleaning) and reports any malfunctions to the appropriate biomed individual
Sets up central station and monitors, including alarms, troubleshooting for false alarms, and improper lead placement

Log in events and encounters and send out information daily to Team Lead
Collaborate with all staff in the procedure areas
Assist with sorting out press Ganey Surveys for RN service report cards
Update and post-ambulatory related services scores in the 4th SCU breakroom
Follow up with family members of the patients to close the loop with any concerns that may need to be addressed
Follow protocol with patients and family members in the discharge planning and assist patients and family members with escorting them out of the building after discharge
Preceptor to all new hires as patient care technician/PCT-2 -Monitor tech
Catheter care includes catheter bags and charting amounts
Ambulation assistance, helping patients getting in and out of beds, wheelchairs, bathtubs
Vital sighs: Blood pressure, pulse, and temperature monitoring
Answering call lights
Turning of bed ridden patients, which includes taking the weight off pressure points and prevention bedsores from occurring
Relaying and charting requested information; this includes moods, vita sighs, meal consumption, liquid intake, and daily BM and urine amounts
Look for nay signs of adverse reaction and report any finding to the nurse
Follow standard precautions according to the facility protocol
Records information in patient log and maintains accurate, neat account of patient’s cardiac monitoring status during episode of care.
Identified and records patient’s rhythm and charges in patients’ rhythm and or conditions
Knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the heart in relation to waves, complexes, time, and voltage as shown through the conduction system and strip interpretation
Knowledge of telemetry services
Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in the workload and work schedules
Ability to set priorities, make critical decision, and respond quickly to emergencies
