Contra Costa Electric as IBEW member October 2001 to Present Communications Technician Foreman

Leadman for teams of up to 10-15 crew members. Managed and planned fiber optics installation projects. Oversaw projects and coordinated logistics for operations, installations, and equipment required. Trained in various aspects of handling materials and equipment, including driving safety courses and on-the-job safety practices.

Highlighted Contract Projects

City of Hayward

Updated city’s fiber optics system from a 60-strand fiber backbone to a 144-strand system. The updated system increased versatility to the city’s fiber system and added capabilities for maximum users.

The update, furthered capabilities for data access, to the traffic signal monitoring system, fire department and police department in multiple locations.

Addressed time constraints by working efficiently. Completed a cutover for the police department to optimize downtime and ensure that emergency calls were received without interruption. Which involved unpatching computer equipment and patch-back under extreme time restraints.

Installed Commscope FOSC C6 and D6 closures various mid-line splices and corning closet connector housings. Installed #8 trace wire for identification purposes, and max cell for fiber optic cable.

Sacramento Utilities District (SMUD)

Installed new Optical Ground Cable (OPGW) splicing and distribution for substation power plant networks. Completion of job resulted in extended communication of network throughout Sacramento County.

UCSF Medical center in San Francisco

Completed indoor air blown fiber optic cable installation.

Project included: Installation of cells, bulkheads, Tube Distribution Units (TDUs), Kellems grips, Furcation kits / fan-outs, for terminating and installation of connectors in CCH Units, as well as other hardware.

Received special training from Sumitomo Future Flex air blown optical fiber systems corporation prior to installation.

Installed fire system and SLC circuits

Terminated various devices for the system such as: smoke detectors, flow switches, pull stations, horn strobes, speakers, and more.

System installation resulted in an alarm system that will alert students, staff, and local firefighters when engaged.

Inspected truck prior to running route to ensure safety and operational efficiency.

Operation of multiple vehicle types to include, front loaders, rear loaders, 45-foot tractor trailer semis with walking floor.

Operated John Deere front loaders on tipping floor to move refuse and load tractor trailers for transport of refuse.

Drove large rear and side loading refuse trucks for residential routes collecting refuse and recyclable materials.
