Evaluate prescriptions in conjunction with clients’ vocational and avocation visual requirements.

Assess customers’ needs and recommend specific lenses, lens coatings, and frames.

Verify finished product including lenses and frames to ensure specifications are met.

Measure clients’ bridge and eye size, temple length, vertex distance, pupillary distance, and optical centers of eyes, using measuring devices.

Prepare work orders and instructions for grinding lenses and fabricating eyeglasses.

Assemble eyeglasses by cutting and edging lenses and fitting the lenses into frames.

Maintain and update customer records with updated prescriptions, work orders, and payments.

Supervision & Management

Investigate and resolve concerns or complaints regarding quality of frames, lenses, and prescription.

Responsible for inventory control, maintain supplies and documenting information.

Manage proper staffing to ensure daily operations are met.

Perform administrative and eye care tasks such as hiring and training new staff, processing insurance and billing, reviewing completed work orders, and following-up on discrepancies if needed

Maintain proper sanitation standards based on health and safety requirements.

Stay up to date on advanced eye care services and products and ensure staff and customers are aware.

Maintain and complete records, ensuring information is accurate and completed timely.

Customer Service

Review insurance information and eligibility requirements and convey information to customers accurately.

Communicate with customers in-person and via phone, providing guidance and support to ensure customer satisfaction.

Use point-of-sale software, ensuring insurance coverage is properly applied to customer’s balance.

Work with various customers’ needs, listening and providing helpful feedback for a positive experience.

Work with customers, peers and management in a positive manner.

Share helpful product knowledge and fashion trends for eyeglass frames and contact lenses.

Communicate delays or backorders with customers and offer alternatives if needed.
