JOB DESCRIPTION:

Performs diagnostic radiological services, such as, but not limited to, the following:

Operates imaging equipment and other equipment/devices as appropriate

Positions patients and provide immobilization as necessary

Determines/calculates exposure factors, process films, and evaluate radiographs for technical quality

Practices/applies radiation protection

Assumes care for physical and physiological needs of patients during examination and procedures

Assists physician with imaging procedures and administration of contrast media

Maintains patient record as appropriate

Assumes responsibility for assigned area and proper care/maintenance of equipment and accessories

Provides input for equipment and supply purchase decisions

Assumes responsibility for portions of the quality assurance program

In the absence of a supervisor, assumes acting supervisory responsibility

Pursues ongoing continuing professional development

Performs related work and all other duties as may be assigned by the Department Head or Chief Radiologic Technologist

Can do routine general radiographic procedures for pediatric, geriatric as well as trauma patients

Can perform CT-scan procedures plain and contrast of the following:
