• REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH DEPARTMENT

Responsibilities.

1. Take and record full history of a patient/clients 2. Perform physical and vaginal examination.

3. Make a correct labor diagnosis and interpret findings using patograph. 4. Manage patient in labor using a patograph.

5. Perform maternal resuscitation, manual removal of placenta, performing and suturing of episiotomy, repair perineal tears, Vacuum extraction, assessing of a newborn. 6. In maternity theater involved in scrubbing with the doctor, receiving and weighing of the baby, resuscitation of the baby if need arises and proper documentation. 7. Offer counselling to others on issues regarding nutrition, family planning and care of the new born.

8. Teaching clients on the danger signs to observe during pregnancy and to have health seeking attitude.

9. Review pregnancy and history.

• THEATRE DEPARTMENT

Responsibilities.

1. Ensure theatre and equipment cleanliness before and after operation. 2. Prepare equipment/apparatus for two specific operations to include; general set, other set and sterile equipment’s. Operating table and operating light. Diathermy, sunction machine and Anesthetic trolley/drugs/gases.

3. Receive patient for surgery and review their pre-operative care. 4. Participate in obstetric operation, scrub up for operation, assist in operation and clear the equipment after operation.
