In the position of first shift supervisor I was directly responsible for over 42 employees. Duties included, but not limited to:
-Staffing all departments in an effort to enhance production as much as possible while adjusting to staffing issues (call offs/vacations) that may deplete the workforce. Directly responsible for the hiring,review and disciplinary action of employees.
-Coordinating production lead times with inside and outside sales reps. Taking into account we are a transactional business and must remain flexible.
-Directly responsible for all consumable purchases (packaging materials, lumber, saw blades, PPE etc).
-Directly responsible for coordination and removal of all aluminum and stainless steel scrap.
-As a lead member of the safety committee, I helped to develop, implement and enforce a safe work environment. Responsible for all accident investigations to identify root cause in an effort to prevent further incidents.
-Directly responsible for training of all employees in all aspects of their particular task (safe operation of lift trucks, overhead cranes and industrial metal cutting saws).
-Coordinate pickups and deliveries using LTL freight and assisting in routing our own truck fleet. In this role I directly oversaw the shipment of all material leaving our facility to ensure a quality product was properly packaged for safe delivery. In the receiving role I inspect all material prior to receiving into our inventory control system and coordinate pickups of material as needed.
