have knowledge of HMI (software function) that controls the automation run for finished product, which

Lab Technician/Customer Service
Eli Lilly and Co. 14yrs
Ensured that our quality unit customers are compliant when entering our GMP lab area. We provided
them with appropriate PPE for their safety and ensure that appropriate training is complete in order to
handle lab specimens and samples. Our lab also had new products entering our area for storage, so we
had to be compliant with Environmental Health Safety procedures. Communication between quality units
for the proper shipment of samples is necessary to comply with government regulations with waste
stream placement i.e.: biohazard materials, controlled and special securities substances. I had good
communication skills both verbal and written with our outside the U.S. affiliates and other Lilly approved
vendors to assist them in developing a model for their sample shipping processes.
Maximizing the flow of our sample receipt in our lab was high priority. Samples from our consumers/
patients require analysis, and investigations completed to reach resolution in a timely manner for our
patient satisfaction. Analysis and investigations of samples can include but not limited to handling sharps
such and needled to preparing slides for viewing product under microscope to the determination of blood
or other foreign materials in the product.
In that position, I also handled shipment of samples from dock to dock, within the Indianapolis area and
outbound to other countries. Adhering to shipping rules, labeling, sharps handling, usage of the Global
Harmonizing System (GHS LABELING), and understanding usage of the SDS (Material SDS) safety data
sheet according to each product..
Patient records are created with each sample and maintaining confidentiality of patient information is
mandatory. Breach of patient information is detrimental to the patient confidence in the company. My
training plan reflected up to date training in this area annually. I had training in not only protecting patient
confidential information but also company confidential information.
Optimizing patient care and trust was the paramount value in our team.
Department Support
I maintained laboratory supplies in the GMP lab and proactively replenish inventory and supplies. I
independently coordinated the ordering of supplies for our external vendors. I also used third suppliers
such as Xerox and Berlin Packaging to maintain our required supplies.
I had experience with preventative maintenance on equipment and making sure equipment is compliant.
The lab was responsible for maintaining cleanliness every day and year-end documentation of completion
of such duties.
Records are maintained and kept organized for quick accessibility.
Previous Lilly experience (13 yrs.)
I began my career in the Insulin manufacturing area in building 105. My experience was in “filling” and
manufacturing facilities. I also worked in the Aseptic area. Duties included but not limited to testing for
sterility, photographing samples ie: crystal types for insulin, creating buffer solutions, washing and
sterilizing tanks to autoclaving instruments. Following a ticket for manufacture and filling required
attention to detail to ensure patient safety and satisfaction due to these lifesaving medications were going
to be marketed products. I also tore down and set up filling lines for use. Line clearance for next batch
was an absolute must before new startups. Working on the filling lines required troubleshooting vial jams
on belt, visual inspections, basic math skills. I also worked in the aseptic area using same skills but in a
sterile environment.
