Amazon, Fulfillment Centers

Human Resources Assistant March 2020 - Feb 2023

As HRA my primary responsibilities expanded from supporting the HR and Operations teams to being the sole front-line HR representative for 1500+ employees and 15+ managers in a shift. Key responsibilities include:

● Successfuly onboarded 1.5-2k employees that included creating onboarding and training materials. As well as Worked with new hires on initiating and reviewing background checks before being onboarded.

● Processed 30 -50 electronic I-9 documents for new Hires per week.

● Participated in special projects such as initiating medical drug tests/medical assessments during the pre employment stage.

● Successfully verified over 100 applicants certificates /licenses before an employee is allowed to operate any machinery. Working with new employees on communication standards around compensation and benefits, company news and role related needs.

● Successfully scheduled 10 - 20 interviews / phone screens per week, working directly with candidates and hiring managers in some cases arranging travel for visiting candidates, providing follow up correspondence to candidates on recruiting status via phone and email.

● Coordinated the post - interview debrief meetings and providing debrief materials identifying opportunities for improving candidate experience.

● Scheduling efficiency updating candidate records in recruiting systems tracking recruiting activities and providing candidates status updates assisting in the coordination of other recruiting activities as needed.

● Sole onsite HR dealing with escalations and requests from 300 avg. daily workers, around work conditions, compensation & benefits, payroll setup, leave of absense (LOAs), work time reporting and wage disputes

● Led and maintained relationships between the employees and managers by creating a strong communication loop between leadership and employees. helping with organizational developement and talent development that lead to 20% reduction in employee attrition

● Conducted employee investigations on discrimination, workplace safety and/or policy violations and provided findings and recommendations to the managers and site lead for disciplinary actions, as necessary. Other key projects I worked on include:

● Successfuly launched 4 new warehouses in California, Minnesota and Pennsylvania and onboarded 1.5-2k employees that included working with new leaders on communication standards around compensation and benefits, company news and role related needs.

● Created an initiative to improve worker safety, through an employee raffle incentive program to reward employees in safety compliance, with support from management to provide monetary rewards.

● Led Affinity groups that played a vital role in ensuring an inclusive environment where all employees are valued, included and empowered to succeed.

● Led volunteer programs and community outreach to help employees find more purpose at work and unite them around giving back to the community.

● Promoted from Human Resources Assistant (HRA) to HRBP in 3 years working with the Sort Center and Amazon delivery services (AMXL) division where my primary responsibilities expanded from supporting the HR and Operations teams to being the sole front-line HR representative for 1500+ employees and 15+ managers in a shift.
