My duues consist of reviewing and/or checking documents, fonns, and lcncrs submitted by District, Project and counry Offices. I also assist them in preparing many of these forms and documems. This includes miking them through situauons, sending examples and information or referring them to othc:r sources. these duties consist of the following: Calculate estimate c:xtensions

Check the total sum of quantities

Chc:ck the total sum of money

Calculate the total ret.ainage to be withheld and the amount to be retained each estimate period.

Review request for payment of stored material. (Collect certified invoice certifying payment).

Review fuel adj ustmem worksheets.

Review bituminous price adjustment worksheets.

Review Progress Reports. (Observe reasons for not charging time and observe the contrac.-ior's progress).

Note adju:;tments in contracts due to change orders. (Adjust retainage accordingly). Check labor payrolls and equipment transcripts which reimburse the County for cq u i pment and I abor.

Review A1,.rreements to detennine if the County or City is eligible for reimbursement and at what pcrcentag,:. Also, determine if Co11Structioo or Preliminary Engineering is rcimbun;able.

Compare final estimates 10 final quantities.

Note if'retainagc is being withheld in an escrow account. (Check Form 3). Check summary of time reports by comparing lo each progress report. Check final lime statement for correct dates and munbers. Calculate additional time allowed due to overruns in the contract. Review FHWA 47 (Federal requirement for projects of $I million or more) Designs Shoulder Paving Projects.

Designs Bridge Replacement Projects.

Designs Resurfacing Projects.

Calculates esnmarcs for projects.

Receives and calculates final quantities on final plan assemblies. Contacts District and Counry Engineers on status of active projects. Contacts Project Engineers on active projects.

Works with Division Lab personnel on active projects. Prepares letters of final quantities for the contractors concurrence. Prepares various letters of final quantiti!:1; to Office Engineers. Keep Division Construction Engineers informed on status of active projects. Contacts Contractors to ensure all supportiog data for final monthly estimates will be

Monthly pay estimates (3 days after closing date) .

. \fonthly Progress Reports (each estimate period). Lists of items overrunning or underrunning are to be submincd monthly. Leners accepting the project are submitted to the Division Office for checking within 60 days of final inspection.

The contractor is allowed 45 days to review quantities. (Process esnmate if contractor fails to reply).

ProJeCt Engineer submits final estimate and supporting data to Division Office for checking.

Contractor submits the final supporting data to the Division Office within 45 days of receiving guanm1cs. {Failure to provide this data removes rum from future bidding). Final Esnrnales are submitted to the contractor for signing_ (Failure !O sign within 30 days could cause the contractor to be declared in default). r prepare the following as instructed by my supervisor: Time Extensions are prepared of the contractorcanjusiify his request for additional time.

Supplemental Agreements are prepared for various reasons. Federally funded projects require that a Change Request be prepared and submitted which adjusts the project agreement

1 attend preconstruction conferences on various State and County projects.
