Summary- Performed duties to include administration of Microsoft workstations and servers in an Enterprise level Active Directory domain environment. Researched and created the Washoe County Information Security Policy. Built, deployed, and administered the Junos Pulse SSL VPN concentrator in active-passive mode. Assisted in deploying Extreme and Enterasys switches and routers, and Mojo wireless access points. Assisted in cable management, patch management, toning out ports, punching rj-45. Researched then migrated our proprietary DHCP system to Microsoft MS-DHCP with built in redundancy to include all of our 130 subnets throughout the County. Created in Visio and printed out a logical diagram of the entire Washoe County Network to include all switches, routers, ups, firewalls, wireless access points and servers. Ability to operate, maintain and print to a large format printer (60 inch HP CMYK plotter) using Visio and Photoshop. Assisted in the migration of our legacy phone system to a cloud based "Vonage" solution.

Performed Microsoft active directory administration of 3,500 users in a multi domain environment with Windows NT servers and workstations, Windows 2000 Professional, Windows 7 Professional, Windows 10 Professional, Windows Server 2000-2022. Comptia Security+, A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Professional, Enterasys Router Certified during this time.

Installed imaged workstations to departments on a scheduled basis. Set up and installed networked printers and print queues.

Performed systemwide audit of all network devices and documented them in Microsoft Excel. Created Change Management Control Process by creating and printing logical network maps of the Washoe County infrastructure and attending CMCP meetings to organize and facilitate network upgrades and installations. Used Microsoft Visio and 60 inch HP plotter to map out Washoe County network logical diagram to include all firewalls, routers, switches, ups, servers, wireless access points, ip interfaces, vlans, network speeds, used uplink ports, type of connection (ethernet, fast-ethernet fiber, wireless, WAN), physical locations of IDF/MDF’s.

Researched and wrote the Washoe County Information Security Policy and met with I.T. Standards group(s) to amend and approve the final draft. Final draft was approved by the Washoe County Board of Commissioners April 2005.

Installed from layer 1 up to 7 the Washoe County VPN www.vpn.washoecounty.us.

Junos Pulse SSL VPN concentrator built in active-passive mode redundancy. Used both Native and Active Directory authentication methods for Washoe County users and vendors with access granted using principle of least privilege (access granted only to resources needed to do job function).

Migrated over our ad-hoc DHCP set up using both Meta-IP for DHCP and IPPLAN for static IP address documentation to Microsoft DHCP Server with built in redundancy using backup servers for redundancy. Existing ip reservations were imported using csv files and Microsoft Powershell.

Working with a partner or in teams, deployed ethernet cables and terminated cabling at the wall jack and patch panel. Ran and hung ethernet wiring as needed for departmental physical moves and restructuring. Did research for our new 802.11 wireless access points, comparing company products before finalizing on Mojo wireless access points with a cloud controller. Assisted in installing new wireless access points throughout the County.Assisted in the mass migration of our proprietary POTS telephone system to a cloud based solution.
