EXPERIENCE

Sonic Drive-in, Johnston - Car-Hop

Fall of 2014 - 2015 summer

●I liked fast food for the free food all the time and getting the first time job experience and learning how to handle money and take orders. I. Also liked that it sharpened me up a bit and help me to get started with learning where I belong and it helped to sort of test the waters and see where I was with my skills but In the end I didn’t like the overall structure of it and it just didn’t feel like the place I needed to be, I did not like the grease and I started to gain weight so I stopped eating there and I looked into the restaurant business because I heard it was a better buisness to get into.

Texas Roadhouse, Urbandale - Busser

October of 2015 - November of 2017

●The pay was okay but I wanted to start working in my dream Job position (personal trainer/entrepreneur) or get into housing developments and property work

●I had stopped working at road house during my senior year so i could finish strong by focusing solely on school but I went right back after because it is a good job and I was given a raise for being dedicated and having a good work ethic, I had left that job shortly after due to the opportunity to get some experience in maintenance.

●I am passionate about physical fitness and my physique so I chose this job to help keep me active and physically motivated. Also to get some work experience in highschool so I could get started on building my life.

Kading properties, Urbandale- Maintenance Tech

November of 2017 - may 2018

●The pay was only 12 dollars an hour, I managed 137 units on two properties divided by a fence and I did everything from landscaping to roofing and siding to move-ins and evictions, in which I loved it but the pay was not the best for the work being done. Also the pay didn’t cover my expenses from where I was living and it was not the best company to work for, despite all of that I fell in love with the work I was doing. I loved it just as much as being a personal trainer.

●Working on my properties was always hard work with long days waking up at 6am and working till 5pm. Being around the tenants was a delight. I made many friends and I learned alot about property management. It also gave me the workout I was looking for every single day, especially because I was in the sun a lot of the time.

●The thing I loved most was making friends and getting a task and being able to tackle the challenge. Sometimes we all need some help and that makes it better because then it becomes a learning experience for me.

Papa John's pizza - Delivery Driver

June 2018 - end of October 2018

●This was my transition job to find something closer that would involve maintenance or working at a gym and it kept me afloat until winter. I made good money and worked 7 days a week sometimes. I learned my way around the area and I did some side work at a country club on nights I didn’t work in which I found just outside of town because of a friend I made while delivering their pizza.

●I learned to be timely, accurate and fast. This job was a good job, just not during the winter months. It was hard on my car working at this establishment because of all the driving so I acted quickly to progress my knowledge in the field of realty/construction/retail.

●I left Papajohns to continue my growth, I found a hiring sign for The Home Depo tand I knew a few friends that have worked there and they said it was a good place to learn a thing or two about how retail business works so I put in my two weeks and moved forward to Home Depot.

The Home Depot - Millwork Specialist/lumber

Beginning Nov.2018 - present

●I joined Home Depot and began my training to learn how to design doors and windows on the computer and I learned salesmanship skills. The average sales per week were between 45k-120k a week or more if possible.I learned a lot about lumber and some about moulding/trim work. I’ve been building relationships with customers and creating a customer base. I have been learning retail and I was trained on how to run a cash register and many computer operating systems including deck design system/fence design. I learned many mechanical skills involving driving a reach truck, an O.P, and a ballymore lift system. I was certified and licensed for each, and I’m striving for the forklifting certification along with possible promotion to a supervisor or to move forward.

●I love the job for many reasons, one is That we’re a team and we’re all about safety and the second is that I get to meet a lot of contractors and pro customers that have so much knowledge to take in, also getting to build new customers dream entryways and help to make their homes look stylish. And many times I find myself building projects with customers in the store on the floor to help them understand what they need to do in order to complete their project or just to help them get a head start on it. Seeing a customer's smile and hearing them laugh is one of the best things I experience in my day because I know I made that person feel good and very confident in what they’re doing.

Murphy tower service - Tower Climber/Civil Tech

May 10 - 2021 - Oct.8th - 2021

●To be on this team you must pass a lot of tests and be extremely attentive to what is happening around you. I had passed my 350 ft climb test along with my 30hr osha certification with flying colors. The climbing was difficult though because I have a fear of heights and vertigo but I did it with a strong attitude. I learned a lot of my construction skills here with a good foreman and great teachers. Also I was given the opportunity to learn new equipment like core drilling brick and concrete all over iowa and other states such as Omaha(this was a traveling job, up to 5 days a week) on call every day ready to work. The days involved EXTREME amounts of stress physically and mentally. Loads of digging for 13 hour days and building. We tore down towers and put them up. My team could pump out 4-5 towers a week on demos. Building a tower takes up to a month or more varying. Murphy towers is highly esteemed and works with all the top cell companies so error is not an option. Also we did professional concrete for all local and out of state cities.

●I loved this company. It was an amazing job, there was a lot of intensity. It took a lot of will-power, it was a very demanding job. I also had to be away from my newborn and my wife needed me so I had to part ways.

OLD DOMINION FREIGHT LINE - Dock Worker, Oct.11th 2021 (4-5 months)

This is a great job but does not feel as fulfilling as my

experience with Kading Properties or Murphy towers and the hours are not the best. It is not a very reliable job when it comes to making sure the check is rolling in. Lots of issues with the lack of necessary equipment and or the quality of that equipment being safe to use and reliable. The upkeep on the equipment is not where it needs to be, very poor and lazy supervision/management. Also I just want to get back to maintenance or construction, or sales locally where I feel more fulfilled at the end of the day along with the constant income of knowledge and experience/satisfaction with my projects/objectives.

Boulder Ridge Apartments - Maintenance Technician 2022 (currently employed)

●Boulder ridge is where I currently reside, also i had worked for this company. This is a great job and I wish I could continue forward with my career, but I have been unable to do physical labor due to my fracture of the spine and car accident. I am in recovery and getting better slowly. My doctor and I do not see that it is very wise to continue working a physically stressing job on top of everything else. We agreed it is best to follow my dreams and transition to starting my own e-commerce/at-home work, and helping people in other ways that I can.

DoorDash - (Self employed since it began)

do this for extra money and to network with others.

Certifications:

●O.S.H.A 30 Hr.(foreman requirement)

EDUCATION

Johnston High School, Johnston - Diploma

August 2015 - May 2017

●9th grade (2014) I was at valley southwoods for my first year of high school and then transferred to Johnston for the last 3 years of my highschool career.
