United Nations Human settlements Program (UN-HABITAT) 1 April 2014 to 31/ December 2015

"Enhancing the Role of Union of Municipalities to Respond to Refugees' and Host Communities' Needs" funded by UNHCR.

The project seeks to respond to the immediate needs of Syrian Refugees and host communities in different areas of Lebanon while laying the foundation for medium and long term sustainable solutions.

III.Functions / Key Results Expected

-Assist in setting up of Regional Technical Offices (RTOs) team within the unions of municipalities

-Provide support in the orientation and training sessions that will be conducted for the RTOs staff and representatives from the Unions of Municipalities, in order to unify working methods and procedures amongst RTOs and to define the roles and responsibilities of each actor.

-Take part in developing guidelines for the identification, selection and financing of community recovery interventions.

-Submit regular field verification reports to the Project Officer and/or Project Manager.

-Follow up with the RTOs and review the prepared technical sheets.

-Design and study of solid wastes facilities on Ikleem Kharoub & South Lebanon districts.

-Conduct awareness campaigns for people to sort from the source. Presentations were given in clubs, schools and municipalities.

-Assist the project team in the implementation of training and awareness raising workshops for local beneficiaries as needed

-Verify, through field visits, viability of identified recovery interventions.

-Monitor through field visits progress of recovery community projects. Control the quality of works, safety and environmental aspects, and compliance with contracts.

Construction of Additional Blocks of 3 stories (4950 m2) in the Nabatieh Governmental Hospital.

Supervised and managed the site from the early start up till the completion day.
