SKILLS:

Experienced general maintenance to include minor electrical, plumbing and carpentry projects

Blend various paints, enamels, lacquers, varnishes, stains and special protective coatings to achieve desired color, consistency, and drying properties.

Expert in all paint equipment including repairs.

Ability to determine and clearly identify proper materials and quantities for new and existing projects.

Prepare surfaces for product application and repair any surface damage.

Properly protect surfaces by taping, masking or covering.

Evaluate surfaces and select appropriate finish material to be applied.

Prepare finish material and mix additives to obtain desired color and consistency.

Knowledge of surface peculiarities and types of finish materials appropriate for different applications. Paint heavy equipment i.e. tractors, bulldozers etc.

Capable of identifying paint and woodwork finishes and matching colors and sheens. Custom paint applications and finishes including high-end gold work (Applied all gold-work for PF Changs in Austin).

Ability to prioritize work requests and work with minimum supervision.

Ability to climb stairs, work from a ladder, platform lift or scaffolding, and carry objects (up to 50 pounds).

Available for emergency on-call duty.

Able to speak, read and write the English language; possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with staff and supervisors

Ability to comply with safety policies, workplace guidelines, and attendance requirements.

Evaluate customer requests, price projects, troubleshoot customer issues, and present a description of a work order to a customer.

KNOWLEDGE:

Knowledge of power tools, all equipment and methods used in commercial and residential interior and external painting and construction.

Knowledge of rigging and scaffolding.

Knowledge of safety practices and procedures. OSHA certified

Skilled in oral and written communication. High school graduation

Skilled in planning and organizing, handling multiple tasks and prioritizing.

Ability to estimate time and materials needed for specific jobs.
