Responsible for running crews all over the United States for PTC (Positive Train Control) Wayside, Base and locomotive tower and radio installations. PTC is a system of functional requirements for monitoring and controlling train movements. Inspected and signed off on Quality assurance completion documentation. Tested for shorts and grounds between communication equipment and antennas with Byrd meters. Responsible for cable locates around bungalows and antenna platforms. Oversee PTC and ARLS antenna installation confirming azimuth and locations of installation. OPAC radios for communication with headquarters in Fort Worth, TX. Troubleshooting all equipment when required. Tested Polyphasers and GPS antennas with Byrd meter prior to initial communications. Tested LMR 600 compression connectors for shorts and grounds.
