Annual volume of KNAPP & Sons averaged at 8 million per year with a gross margin of 30% . There is no fluff in that number I am simply extremely good at what I do and the net results of my ethics and means and methods made me a millionaire at 36 years old. No one can speak over my head on any subject. I often have to take down my vocabulary as I see the puzzling looks at me as I use words commonly that most have never heard. I chose to not take the College Route as it bored me to death and the professors were always inept except in their chosen field.
I say to myself there goes another person educated beyond their intelligence. I am very well read and studied many subjects in depth but they had to continue to challenge me as once I have Mastered it I put it down and never looked back. I will admit that I am extremely confident and generally twice the levels of most which I love to be challenged at anything.
Money is nothing but paper and I understand we need it in order to conduct business and pay our bills but when you are seeking money and that’s your goal you have already failed. Money only is the byproduct of hard work preparation and performance. If you practice that mind set then you can become wealthy instead of temporarily Rich. Individuals who cheat and lie I can see straight through them and will quickly dispose of any cancers as that.
With hiring personnel for future growth and to substantiate a constant healthy work environment the key is simple.
I have learned by studying people intensely to a fault as I allow them to think that they are fooling me. But the rule for hiring new employees is this simple. You can always hire someone for any position who is good at their job but they lack moral compasses, they will always take the easy path and you can not change these behaviors as that happened before they were 17. But when you find a good honest hard working person of high integrity now you have to simply train them to perform their tasks and now you have a staff you can build on. High employee turnover is the mail in many coffins in this business.
I can say that no matter what I am working on that I will always be the best and the fastest at the task while at the same time being very bottom line oriented. I enjoy mentoring younger people but only the ones that earn my time. I waste no time on clock punchers.
The best measurement of how good a Senior player in a Company is that they could take off a month of work and their department would not skip a beat. Most managers will subconsciously hire people that they are not intimidated by as eventually they will be working for the other side.
I have only applied for 2 jobs in my lifetime and I was hired at both. I will guarantee my performance and how I handle hard situations will always exceed expectations. Respectfully sent,
Mark Andrew Knapp, CGC
