Consisting of a 60 & 40 tower with ten story link consisting of apartment and offices main tower and a 40-story apartment tower with a 10-story mall link block. The whole complex sits on 7 basement parking floors, all to international standards for a B2 seismic area. Structural Engineers- WSP New York/Dubai.
At over 300 meters tall the main tower qualifies as global mega structure and Pakistan’s tallest building (London Shard 309.6 m).
Role: I was one of two Project Managers working from our offices on-site in basement 2.
I formed the “Projects Development Department” by hiring four professional architects and an engineer to assist me deliver architectural design and supervision to integrate the many design alterations ordered by the Owner/Chairman of Bahria Town. It is the company’s flagship project of the owner’s extensive ongoing portfolio.
To achieve this I chaired weekly meetings with PM consultants, Architects, M&E engineers and nominated sub-contractors/suppliers to resolve onsite delivery issues.
Involvement: Driving and co-ordinating all Architect, MEP and structural consultant’s drawings to ensure conformity and ensure design conformity.
Originally designed for a 5* Hotel, I re-designed the interior of tower 2 to create apartments in response to the owner’s re-evaluation of the use of the building.
I took the opportunity to add one retail floor and one apartment floor as I revised story heights to reflect the change of use, thus increasing the net lettable/ saleable floor areas.
Document control: I controlled, catalogued and issued all drawings. I tracked and issued for construction using my electronic stamps before issue. Latest revisions I then uploaded to company database.

Checking AutoCAD plans of 40 tower buildings by top global architectural partnerships and marking up hard copy. Generally ensuring overall scheme complied with the Masterplan design intent. Landscaping, hard and soft, furniture, sculptures, wayfinding signage were designed to integrate the signature group of towers.

Emirates University: Women’s Admin. Building comprising of: Great Hall, Seminar rooms, Library, Administration Offices and Parking.
Position: Site Architect / FF&E Manager for this flagship Educational building funded by Emirate Royalty.
Responsibilities: The grey structure was only 80% complete, I undertook completion of Civil & MEP installation, plumbing and finishing works. I identified and resolved construction issues. I created a mock-up room to act as quality standard for all finishes, fittings and furniture.
I oversaw fit-out of all areas, fire stopping, ceramic tiling, complex M&E ducting and suspended ceilings. kitchen equipment, cold rooms, and fire encasement of all structural elements.
To aid installation I created Room Books for 8,600 furniture items to be distributed over 350 rooms. Co-ordinating 11 suppliers to ensure correct delivery, inspection and storage of all furniture items.
University Teaching Hospital, Dubai
Two building on a plaza covering 3-stories of car parking. The buildings comprise a 5-storey administration block with an 18-storey hospital which includes a 4-storey podium.
Responsible for all Architectural RFIs, checking approx. 1000 drawings for QA/QC conformity. The drawings were produced by our Sidney office and communication via Lotus Notes web-based system on a Citrix secured platform.

PHARMACEUTICAL: Two similar Office/facilities extensions with extensive re-planning of their existing buildings.
On joining the team I decided to redesign the existing initial proposal after I conducted a production flow analysis using specialist feedback. I re-planned and drafted office, production and warehouse areas having Electrical, air handling, telecoms and Micro Biology lab.
Euro Disney Paris, France.
Disney's agent to ensure the completion of the £52 million FF&E contract of the five star, 500 bedroom Magic Kingdom Hotel, the flagship hotel of six on the Euro Disney Park.
My function was Site Architect and QC/QA Manager for finishing trades for the $52 million finishes contract, including but not limited to:
Spray plastering, Plumbing, Joinery, Electrical, HVAC, Paperhanging, Painting, Carpet laying, Furniture and fittings installation.
I created and decorated the show room to illustrate the standard of plasterwork, painting and paperhanging required from the subcontractors.
