Many skills are required to maintain an on line presence, be found in search results, provide top quality customer service in addition to creating and producing products that appeal to the marketplace. There are so many facets of running a small business, including utilizing Microsoft Excel software for maintaining an up to date spreadsheet and inventory sheet which is essential to calculating prices and even more so for accurate tax reporting. Crafting is my hobby and keeps me sane. Every year I develop and create an entry for the Akron Children's Hospital Holiday Tree Festival. These trees and miniatures are donated and auctioned off with the proceeds going to benefit Akron Children's Hospital. I have entered a miniature every year for the last 10 years or so. So far I have won three ribbons for "Most Original", two for "Best in Show", and this year was pleased to receive "Best of the Festival"! It is truly a labor of love to enter an item each year. I recommend others join in the fun and donate a decorated tree, wreath or miniature to represent their own company, or as I do, just for the pure joy of it. Each year I am astonished at all the talented people in our area who come up with new and original Christmas trees and other items for such a worthy cause.
