Vancouver Public Schools -
Lakeshore Elementary
Serving 200-250 students
My role in Nutrition Services consists of working in many different schools with different teams of people, with each school having their own "personality" and way of doing things. I actually enjoy seeing how each school, Grade schools, Middle Schools, and High Schools, all work a little differently yet accomplish the same goals and standards. I am able to adapt quickly to each schools way of handling the different roles and responsibilities in the kitchen without complaint. I have not been to a school where I have not been able to work effectively with the team and follow direction. The kitchen is extremely fast paced and often times you are working quickly with little to no direction. I have studying and passed online courses for my food handlers card as well as the yearly online training courses for Nutrition Service workers.
I am now over seeing the operations of Lakeshore Elementary Schools kitchen.
I run inventory and food/supply orders. I work with cooking and handling all food that is served to our 200-250 students. I also handle special menu items for multiple children with specific health and spiritual food aversions.

CLEAN WORLD MAINTANCE
As a construction cleaner I work daily with multiple trades including high-voltage electricians, heavy machinery, Carpentry, painters and Project managers,My day would usually start at about 530 or six in the morning getting all of the proper tools and cleaning supplies necessary for each job. Often time there were several different crews going to different locations which I would help organize. We would do the final cleaning which would need to be made meticulous. I often lead out as the Project Manager for our different cleaning projects where I corresponded and worked with closely the PMs for the construction site itself. The majority of the projects that we have been working on the last three years has in fact been in construction or renovation of many different elementary, middle and high schools in Or and Wa.
HOMEMAKER/HOMESCHOOL
Aidan is my first born son, he was born prematurely due to complications, we stayed in the NICU at Legacy Salmon Creek Hospital for just shy of 1 month. During that time I lived in the hospital with him and had the unique experience of being a first time mother surrounded by the wonderful NICU nurses and doctors at Salmon Creek Legacy. I learned a lot from them on managing and caring for a child that would be mentally and emotional "Behind" his peers. It was not evident the exact issues Aidan had till he started school at Lake Shore Elementary where he is now being support with an IEP by the wonderful teachers and Para educators. From the time Aidan was about 2 years old I had started noticing that his recollection and ability to maintain learned information was significantly behind. He is a smart very sweet boy who loves to please, however his ability to focus and retain information has been a long struggle. At 2 years old and onward I had expressed my concerns with his Peds Doctor along with the Early childhood Intervention program to see what we could come up with for him. One thing I noticed was his need for glasses about 3 years old. That helped him some but there were still issues at hand. I had him evaluated at Salmon Creek Legacy Children's OT/Rehab clinic, were he did qualify for Speech therapy and Ocupational therapy. From 3 years old I was invested in taking him to his therapies twice sometimes 3 days a week and listening and leaning from the doctor to assist Aidans development. Along with his recall and mental focus issues he also had/has poor impulse control and struggles with managing his emotions, mostly hyper activity along with sensory processing disorders.
Although I do not have a certificate in education I do have a fair share of experience with child development issues. My heart goes out to kiddos that struggle, mentally and emotionally. I would love to be considered for this position to help other peoples children just like the doctors and amazing teachers at Lake Shore have and continue to help my babies.
