April, I worked on the road. Used GPS layout as well as laying pipe in the ground. Riggings, mudding, and trenching. Lay off due to winter and company no longer needed us in that phase of the job. Working for QAP at the time. I have worked as a project engineer for Liberty Electric as a sub-contractor for Stacy Whitbeck in WA. After deciding not to be a project engineer I started out surveying for a couple companies until I had enough experience to work for the union of operating engineers 302/612. Coming from Washington to Alaska has been a little bit of a change in pace for work. I was very used to work year-round, however, I understood the slow times but I didn’t realize in the operators union you work mainly during the summer and if you have been here long enough or have enough connections you can join the slope or drive truck. I’m currently looking to join a new trade where I can learn from start to finish. I was always told I was a hard worker and I never miss a day of work. I’m very punctual when it comes to work. I like to feel like I did a good job when I completed a days work and I’m really looking for a great company to work for and show what an asset I can be. The ideal company to work for would be with good people all working to achieve the same goal. I thrive under pressure and I’m quick to pick up what needs to be done. The union has used me in so many different ways that I think I would be a great fit for your company.
