I was offered a job as a corporate buyer with British American Tobacco in New York City that I could not turn down. After I got my father’s plumbing business back in order, I worked with British American Tobacco from October 1978 to April 1983. They were relocating us to Chicago and at that point I was offered the job at P.C. Richards & Sons to stay in New York.

I am an avid community member. I assist in running events – charitable and/or local. I am a part of the town board meetings where I live and advocate to grow our community in all aspects. I used to run the D.A.R.E. programs within schools across Long Island, New York. I enjoy golf and assisted in some outings on Long Island. One I was affiliated with was with Adelphi University golf outing for years. Another I am in the works of assisting with is with my son who works for a non-for-profit company on Long Island with Adults with Disabilities. Next year his team is heading the 1st annual company golf outing. He requested my knowledge as an advisor for when they have to begin their groundwork. Among other things, food and family are most important.
