Projects:
Baker Hughes is one of the world’s largest utility service companies with a focus in the oil and gas industry. They provide a variety of products, solutions and services led by their subsidiaries. We support server and client-side patch testing for two Baker Hughes Projects, Bently Nevada and Nexus Controls. The majority of testing work done on these projects is windows patch discovery and testing on various server deployments. All servers under test are run as Virtual Machines (VMs). Bently and Nexus testing runs as two separate cycles.
Bently Nevada:
• Bently has 4 Classic servers and 8 Evolution servers and 2 Client servers that was Manually tested for each test cycle.
• Involved in running an online patching process to search for all relevant patches and prepare a patch list.
• Verify with the BH team regarding the new patch list and a summary of all the patches that are not going to be installed and the ones that we are not sure about.
• Download and run the patches after approval from BH and verify successful installation.
• Perform manual testing of the Servers and report any anomalies.
• Perform Manual test execution of the test cases, report any defects or anomalies and update the Test status.
• Involved in creating ISOs for each server with relevant Patch information and copy them to the corresponding server and check for successful execution.
• Involved in uploading the Patch List, Test Execution results and the ISO files to BH OneDrive. Nexus Controls:
• Nexus has 50+ servers in total which are Host Based and OTArmor based VM's.
• Involved in running an online patching process. Include all necessary patches that are mentioned in the BH lists and ask them for any unlisted new patches.
• Involved in patching the online servers and rescan for any additional patches.
• Perform manual test execution of validation test cases for Host and OT Armor VM's and document the results and report any anomalies .
• Create ISOs and send BH Patch List documents for both Host and OT Armor Machines and Validation results along with the ISOs.
