Amy Cunningham
Evansville, Indiana
**************@*****.***
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Amy Cunningham; I am a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant. I received my associate degree in medical assisting after a lot of challenging work and circumstances. I was enrolled as a part-time student, as well as being foster parent (with my husband), Before graduating I completed an externship in Family Practice finished with excellent achievements!
As a Medical Assistant I have worked in Family Practice, and Endocrinology. My responsibilities included but not limited to scheduling appointments, gathering patient charts, rooming patients, weight, a set of vitals, assisting Dr. when needed, updating electronic health records, injections, and sanitization of patient rooms.
Before I went back to school I worked as a Certified Nurse’s Aide. I assisted patients with personal hygiene, dressing when needed. I worked as a nurse’s aide for a couple of years, got my feet wet, but decided I wanted more responsibilities.
During my five plus years caring for patients, one of which was my dad (Dementia) helped with basic patient care daily functions of life, medication reminder, Dr. appointments, and medication pickup. (2016-2018)
In 2019 I became a full-time caregiver for my mom for three years. She has osteoarthritis in her knee, 3 liters of oxygen daily, 24/7, large hiatal hernia in her chest/lung, GERD, COPD, and scoliosis. Unfortunately Mom became a high fall risk and is now in a nursing home.
It has been a journey of difficulties, growth, and a lot of learning! Below is my resume with qualifications that meet the position of Clinical Assistant that I applied for. The medical field and caring for patients are my passion. Patients deserve Our best! Thank you for considering me for this position. I would love to speak with you in an interview and learn more about your company! I look forward to putting my skills to work!
Sincerely,
Amy Cunningham, CCMA (NHA)
