As construction supervisor I have a wide array of job responsibilities. These responsibilities change from day to day depending on the progress of the project and unforeseen events. Some typical duties include evaluating workmanship and quality, ensuring the project schedule is being met, reviewing any plan discrepancies in the field, coordinating activities between subcontractors and resolving any disputes which may arise on the job site. As a supervisor I’m ready to take on unique challenges daily, with the responsibility of keeping a project on schedule and in budget. Other responsibilities:

- Prepare Consultant’s Quality Assurance Plan for approval by the Client including updating the same as and when required.

- Review Contractor’s QA/QC Plan for compliance with the requirements of the contract including auditing the same at various intervals.

- Review Contractor’s quality documents (QC procedures, Method-Statements, Inspection and Testing Plans etc.)

- Review and advice Materials engineer in respect of Contractor’s proposals for materials, mix-designs, various test-results etc.

nThe Quantity Surveyor is reporting to the Resident Engineer and is assisting him in all financial issues in accordance with FIDIC, such as Contractor’s invoices, financial control, all contractual issues, such as claims, administrative issues, establishment of Variation Orders, etc., requesting attendance of Contractor’s representative and is carrying out measurements in line with quantity matters as provided in the Conditions of Contract as outlined in more detail hereunder.

nTaking care of all quantity matters (control of quality of the works by others) organization of measurement procedures and request attendance of Contractor’s representative; carrying out measurements required for variation orders, estimates and adjustment of the works; checks and verification of all measured quantities for inclusion in payment certificates; keep measurement records and arrange these to be signed by the the Contractor and to be approved by RE; determination of quantities, preparation and participation in agreement of the Contractor’s Final Statement; assistance in preparation of the variation orders; assistance to Resident Engineer and the Project Team Leader for timely preparation and submission of analysis and recommendation and records are maintained in the site office to properly substantiate all Contractor’s interim and final payments, to standard acceptable by the Contracting Authority.
