Position: Network Engineer
Duties and responsibilities
Collaborate with executive management and department leaders to assess near- and long-term network capacity needs
Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records.
Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network administration, usage, and disaster recovery.
Design and deploy company LANs, WANs, and wireless networks, including servers, routers, switches, UPSs, and other hardware
Design, implement, and support firewalls, site-to-site VPNs, and remote-access VPNs Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry
Oversee new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades. Deploy QoS in the core network in order to implement VoIP service Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services
Deployment of traffic and network Monitoring tools in the Network Installation and configuration of IPS used to detect malware in the network and block them Installation and configuration of DPX (anti -DDos) used to detect and block DDos attacks Network Planning and Deployment

Duties and Responsibilities
Design and planning of the initial installation of the bank of Kigali Branches Planning and Deployment of the bank of kigali Voice over IP Network Planning and Deployment of bank of kigali network Operation Center Review network design, highlight issues and recommend for fixes Planning and deployment of Network Transmission Equipment’s Installation of applications responsible for network monitoring Initial construction and set up the Network Operation Center Initial configuration of core equipment’s to be installed in the Network Operation Center and the National Backbone Network
Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.
Participate in managing all network security solutions.
I run regular anti-virus updates to protect the systems from being infected by malic ious attacks from the internet.
Managing the company’s Network: I make sure that the Local Area Network is up and running efficiently, also supervise and participate in maintenance of I.T facilities.
Perform server and security audits, and system backups and recovery
I give support to Network Users in case of Network failure, hardware failure or software failure.
I run backup of ddata on a regular basis to make sure that incase of system crush the comp any doesn’t
loose data, also perform data and system recovery incase of failure or crush.
