• Continuously participates in direct assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation evaluation and documentation of care provided in a level III NICU.

• Obtained and continuously practices advanced nursing skills including initiating and maintaining peripheral intravenous access, accessing and maintaining central lines including UVC’s, PICC lines, ART lines and UAC’s, initiating, administering and monitoring blood transfusions, assisting in neonatal intubations and assisting in sterile procedures such as lumbar punctures, urinary catheterization (etc).

• Able to perform tasks as the units Resuscitation Nurse such as attending high risk deliveries and actively participating in neonatal resuscitation.

• Provides support, teaching and information to parents of infants in the NICU while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.

• Actively supports the concepts and principles of Patient-Focused care. Completed 202.5 point-of-care hours for each of the following rotations.
