*Part of team writing a COBOL II, DB2 batch process to swing physical certificates from participant Merrill Lynch to become a new retail participant as part of Bank of America’s separation of retail and institutional broker dealer activities. The processing consisted of new batch COBOL II/DB2 jobs, creating their JCL, and identifying and capturing the pertinent physical certificate records from a DB2 table, translating old boxes to new boxes, and placing them on an AIMCDI-formatted file for transmittal to DTCC for swing consummation. Multiple excel reports documented the audit trail, both pre-DTCC and post-DTCC. I also, enhanced, tested and debugged multiple CICS/DB2 programs to accommodate the ongoing company enhancements.

* Logging of ACA-mandated ERAs and EFTs : Created programs for logging of electronic remittance

advice (ERA) and electronic funds transfers (EFT) events, as part of the monitoring needed to meet

government-mandated requirements of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). These were CICS/MQ and

COBOL II/MQ batch called programs, complemented by an MQ ‘listener’ program utilizing MQ,

DB2 and VSAM processing. Logging is initiated from both distributed and mainframe which results in the calling of my programs, to edit and put the events to MQ, where a ‘listener’ (written by myself) gets the messages and populates a DB2 repository table used for government reporting.

* Parsing of XML DB2 logs to a variable file of multiple-formatted records using COBOL XML parse.

Created Fileaid access to the file, using XREF functionality, as an aid for users data readability.

* Claims capturing for retesting : Conceived, designed, wrote specifications and coded a claims

capturing system for in-flight MQ claims flowing from distributed users into the mainframe. The

system allowed multiple expeditor testing sessions and infinite retesting of claims.

* Real-Time-Processing of claims : Real-time pricing for both batch and online claims using CICS,

DB2, MQ, Channels and Containers.

* TRICARE Military health program : Interfacing U.S.TRICARE military southern region medical

contract into a current UHG claims processing system using 4th-generation language XGEN

interfacing with CICS and COBOL II.

* Financial Services – Wealth Management : Coded the original application of online intra-day

trades and transactions for their timely dynamic presentation to clients via a client/server

configuration. This was the first time that intra-day techniques came into existence, at UBS. This included all types of wealth management holdings information. Also, developed and maintained batch, CICS, DB2 and Stored Procedures software in support of client enrollment and client inquiry systems for use by field agents.

* Formulary eligibility for third-party claims : Implemented CICS drug copay functionality into a

formulary system.

* Integrated Drug CWS System : Part of a 3-person team which designed and created a CICS-to-

Web Support pilot system (CWS), supplying data communication abilities between users on the

internet and the CICS mainframe which used DB2 tables. The internet medium was in the form of

HTML web pages communicating with mainframe CICS. This included inquiry, browse and update

functionality and was the first CWS processing developed within the Integrated Drug group.

* Court-mandated remediation of misrepresented insurance policies : Analyzed, designed,

programmed, tested, debugged and documented CICS/DB2/VSAM maintenance programs to

allow for policyholder-selected compensation packages. Enhanced COBOL II/DB2 batch

programs to generate maintenance transactions to be used to update the Prudential main

master file along with programs to monitor the policyholder selection’s status.

03/96 - 08/97 Position: Senior P/A

* Responsible for a major rewrite of a unique municipal courts ticket and criminal CICS/DB2

system to enable interfacing of CDP’s system with the State of New Jersey's Administration of the Court's System in compliance with state regulations. Interviewed state personnel and analyzed state court system. Determined how to transmit the privately-entered data to the state system so as to maintain compatible parallel systems with enforced data integrity. This system was the only private system in New Jersey that was allowed to process tickets outside the state system. I documented the private system and trained users. I worked independently as the CICS/DB2/VSAM programmer analyst on this project only occasionally enlisting a consultant to help meet deadlines.
