Being a shop assistant at remco, my duties were to keep the steel fabrication shop clean and assist the welders and machine operators as they needed. I learned skills about working in a shop environment such as good communication and doing tasks in an efficient manner. My time with Remco was short but was a great opportunity as a first job.

Entering to Amazon it was much bigger and more fast paced but I was able to keep up with the work load and perform instructions as they were told. As a picker, my job duties were to pick packages that were selected by an RF scanner and fill up a container with those that were selected. I then took the filled containers and placed them on a conveyor belt for them to go to packing. My time at this facility taught me how to work independently with little instruction and be standing/moving on my feet for 10 hours at a time.

The delivery warehouse for amazon was a new experience since it was run differently than a fulfilment center. My job duties were inducting, which consists of stowing away packages that had arrived from the fulfilment centers, picking, which was collecting packages that would go out to a specific delivery route and placing them on a conveyor, rebinning, which consisted of sorting the already picked packages into delivery bags, and finally staging, which consisted of collecting the full carts of delivery bags and setting them to their location based on their route, which the delivery drivers would then load them onto their vehicle. During my time here I learned how to switch between job roles with little instruction and work at a fast pace to meet delivery time standards. Here I also learn how to work together with my coworkers to meet our goals. After our facility had closed in October of 2022, I was relocated to another building where I then resigned since I was not able to undertake the new schedule and location.
