City of Little Rock, Planning & Development Department November 2015 - December 2020 Planner

Conducts research with field studies and various surveys to collect data to determine the physical, developmental and socioeconomic characteristics of specific areas within the City of Little Rock; visits areas to review the physical and developmental characteristics; collects data from other cities and professional publications; compiles them at GIS database platform and prepares visually appealing maps and webapps for departmental meetings such as Transportation Plan Proposal/Change meetings with Pulaski County, other Municipalities or for the other departments.

Enters information of approved building permits into a database by utilizing a computer with database software. Creates maps requested by Department members by using GIS files and ESRI System software to select desired features.

Reviews land use plans, master street plans, street and capital improvement applications for completion; analyzes data received from various organizations and professional publications; writes background information and recommendations for plans and other development projects; submits recommendations to appropriate personnel for approval.

Answers questions and provides information to citizens, developers, and other interested parties regarding planning procedures and land use plans.

Attends neighborhood association and other organization meetings to answer questions, provide information, and to promote and assist neighborhood associations and other organizations involvement in the planning process; receives information from neighborhood associations and other organizations regarding area needs and priorities; presents neighborhood action plans and other plans, and research information.

Analyzes information, such as housing and demographic data, and changes, shifts, and trends concerning land use, to develop recommendations of plans and policies.

Writes plans and policies relating to land use, transportation, capital improvements, and programming; writes narrative reports that includes needs and priorities to be included in various plans, including agenda items for Planning Commission.
