Experience and Skills:

Since 1994, I have been employed as a contractor at the Department of Transportation. I am currently employed by SAIC.

Currently a Database Administrator in a SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL and NoSQL database environment. I have been a DBA since 2002 and play a key role in DOT database management. My responsibilities include the following:

Install and configure database instances, applying all the security rules of DOT.

Patching these instances on a regular basis.

Write scripts that set alarms if any of the databases are down.

Refresh Non-production databases on regular basis.

Install and configure SQL Server Always on Availability Group.

Database mirroring.

Can sync databases between Azure and on premises databases.

Performance management and tuning SQL queries.

Administrator of SAP Business Object, BMC Control-M and Power BI.

Install and configure Azure SQL Managed Instance Server and Azure Synapse Analytics Data Warehouses.

I have extensive experience with .NET, Java and VBScript, JavaScript, PowerShell, Python, TSQL and Oracle SQL. I have a thorough knowledge in ETL services and have written ETL packages (SSIS) on the premises and for the cloud using Azure Data Factory. I have strong expertise in SAP Business Objects and BMC Control-M scheduling software.

Some of my past accomplishments include the following:

Designed data models for the new application and improved the existing models.

Designed survey systems (HSIP), Financial system FMIS (Fiscal Management Information stem), TMAS (Travel Monitoring Analysis System). VSW (Vehicle Size and Weight Enforcement). FAF (Fuels & FASH). Partition tables and Some of these database tables has more than 10 billion records. Now these databases are moving to the Azure cloud.

Migrated databases to Azure Cloud and on AWS cloud

- Created Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure SQL Database, Azure Server Elastic Pool databases, installed SQL Server Instance on Azure VM; and provide ongoing management of them

- Migrated several databases from on-premises to the Azure cloud. Addressed migration issues and successfully solved them (such as the number of files in a database, SSIS packages). Worked closely with the Microsoft team on the migration issues.

- Created the SQL Server high availability on Azure VM instances. Have extensive expertise on Azure Data Factory.

- Created the databases sync between on premises and cloud.

- On AWS, I have migrated the SQL Server and Oracle databases to EC2 servers.

Initially design the database in Oracle but later converted to SQL Server – This database includes GEO tables too. Some tables have more than 3 billion records. Tables are partition on 2 keys, year + state. SSIS packages are included in this software for ETL. Established the database mirroring.

FMIS – FMIS is FHWA's system for managing federally funded highway projects within the Federal-aid Highway Program. Staffs of FHWA Division Office and State DOTs are assigned FMIS access and levels of project approval authority. Established the database mirroring.

The system converted from main frame to Oracle and now it is in SQL Server database.

I was team member of these conversion teams.

System in OLTP and accessible through browser. The database has Geo information too.

The coding done C# and reports are designed in Business Object.

Size of the database is > 2 TB. Batch processing system. Reports are design in HTML. Coded in C#. Database is in SQL Server and mirrored. SSIS packages are included in this software for ETL. Established the database mirroring. We are moving this application to cloud and moving the data to Azure Synapse Analytics Data Warehouse.
