Function in the role as the CRC for two Apheresis studies. Order all required supplies and equipment necessary to perform the protocol procedures. Monitor study activities to ensure compliance with protocols and with all relevant local, federal, and state regulatory and institutional policies. Maintain required records of study activity to include study charts, tracking logs, consent forms, and regulatory forms. Recruit, re-screen, schedule volunteers for all visits. Maintain funding to compensate the volunteers for each clinic visit, as well as to maintain a volunteer scheduled visit log to reconcile all financial disbursements. Assist with adhering to the budget. Consent volunteers to undergo apheresis procedures. Review all documents for current version, signatures and dates. Monitor volunteer and assess for any potential adverse events or serious adverse events during an apheresis procedure. Stay abreast of current treatment plans related to complications associated with the apheresis procedure. Document all concerned findings in the volunteers study charts. Stay current with the CITI, GCP, HIPAA guidelines. Obtain and process the required specimens per protocol, and assist with peripheral venous catheters insertions for all scheduled volunteers undergoing apheresis. Make arrangements to have the specimen picked up from Quest, and transported the rest to a research site. Obtain required vital signs and weights, and alerted the PI/AI of all abnormalities which do not meet the eligibility criteria. Prepare the study charts for the re-screening and apheresis procedures. Ensure all volunteers are consented prior to the apheresis procedures and are provided with copies of all signed documents. QA post apheresis documents, and ensure that the volunteers receive post apheresis instructions. Compensate the volunteers for all study visits. Treat all volunteers with respect and dignity. On call for emergency care post apheresis.

Assigned to two studies, and became an expert with two other studies. Assisted with the recruitment of volunteers, scheduled dates for screening based on the physician’s schedule, discussed the informed consent with the volunteers, and assisted with the consenting process, obtained lab specimens per protocol, obtained vital signs, and EKG’s, reported all adverse events to the Principal/Associate Investigator, documented all adverse events, scheduled return visits, collected data for each study visit per protocol, prepared the study binders with updated forms, enter the data into the database system, and reported all abnormal findings to the Principal/Associate Investigator, currently following up with the volunteers for an eighteen months follow-up check via the telephone.

Performed phlebotomy and processed specimens for outside vendors. Inserted intravenous catheters for frequent blood draws as required. Recorded 12 lead and digitalized electrocardiographs (ECG's). Recognized and reported all abnormal ecg readings. Effectively administered study drug agents per protocol. Assigned to administer the first dose of the study drug agent in the presence of the Sponsors, and was told that I did a great job. Adhere to legal, professional, and ethical codes with respect to confidentiality and privacy. Provide guidance to volunteers with their informed consent. Ensure that all aspects of the informed consents were explained that included risks and benefits of the study. Received training issued by a staff Psychiatrist on cognitive testing (Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-IV Disorders) to determine their drug use history satisfactorily without supervision, and have successfully tested numerous volunteers. Recruited, and screened volunteers. Offered flexibility with scheduling, and trained less experienced nurses, as well as performed duties assigned by the Assistant Nurse Manager and the Nurse Manager.
