CHRISTIAN WALK AND WORK

Like many people born in Christian environments or into such homes, I was very religious and committed in church until my experience at a retreat that terminated the life of sin and got me on to thorough discipleship, which reshaped my life and redirected my course in life. The spiritual grooming continued until the next phase which exposed me to greater Christian Ministry responsibilities. It was a five year period of tent-making, working in government and engaging in active and aggressive missions in preparation for full-time ministry.

I retired voluntarily and went into full-time missionary work in an interdenominational Christian ministry called Scripture Union, for twenty years. This ministry afforded me the opportunity of relating and working with diverse Christian ministries and churches. It isolated humanity into children, youths, adults and families, and ministered to them accordingly. So I was opportuned to minister salvation to them and gave diligent attention to discipleship per these categories, and collectively too, through retreats, conferences, and regular in-house programs.

I have identified, developed and frequently used some ministry gifts I am endowed with such as Teaching (the default gift), as well as the Apostolic, Prophetic and Pastoral, which come into effect during certain programs, as the Lord pleases, and dependent on my pre-program preparations. I've been into Pastoral ministry in very special ways - Counselling people and following them up to healing or solution, organising and ministering to groups of people which includes a Larger Family I am raising for the Kingdom. There is also the regular online broadcast ministry, writing of books, developing and editing manuscripts for others.

My present passion consists of Discipleship and Leadership to nurture the upcoming generations, with indepth and life transforming teaching ministry, and Administration. These are all connected to my trainings and gifting in the faith.

MINISTRY - Personal Experience and Concept.

+ In relation to my gift of administration, developed as a Supervisor of Schools, during my twenty years work in Scripture Union, and Management Consultancy services, I can work with any Church or Christian ministry to develop their structures and increase their performance, with little or no stress and supervision. These are all by God's grace which I seek and tarry often to develop in studying and praying.

+ Ministry, to me, is service unto God, usually directed to people and/or organisations, wherever He leads. It could be full-time or part-time; it could be in response to a specific divine call (as in the case of Paul and others) or as situation presents/demands (as in the case of Timothy that Paul took away into the work). Ministry is serving God's purposes on earth, which demands high consecration, commitment, conscientiousness, as well as charisma. Ministry could be for life, could change, or broaden. Jesus should be its focus.
