Osmose Utilities Services, Inc. • Houston, TX 12/2019 - 06/2022 my first position was as a digger, i would dog an 18" hole around utility poles, would dig up to 120+ holes in a 8 hr day. i was then promoted to treator, my job was to treat all utility poles with chemicals to keep bugs and water out of base of poles to and or 18" above groundline, ensure all ground connections were secure, refill whole with dirt. 120+ poles in 8hrs.
i was then given the lead inspector postion. my job was to sound and bore all utility poles, with hammer and drill, i would use probing tool to check for pockets and or discrepancies inside of pole, asses and chip away dead or infected wood or simply dril holes in infected area so that treator can use chemical to stop existing issue. make sure all connections lines wether it be fiber telecome or live electrical, report any and all damage and or dangerous situations, use data tablet to input all data, calculate life expectancy of pole. we would walk 10+ miles a day, i would have to cary at around 65lbs of wieght, daily.
