Physician Assistant, Temple University Hospital. October 2003 to June 2004. Responsible for the evaluation of outpatient neurosurgical candidates prior to surgery. Postoperative visits consisted of assessment of patient progress and

determination of possible post-operative complications. Following each visit, detailed letters of patient progress written to the referring physician. Inpatient responsibilities included morning rounds with the neurosurgery team, with assessment of inpatients recovering from surgery.

February 2003 to August 2003.Assist neurosurgeons with the evaluation of outpatient neurosurgical candidates and surgery follow-up visits, inpatient consultations, trauma consultations, and inpatient management. First assist in the operating room for surgeries such as cervical and lumbar microdiscectomies, fusions, craniotomies, and others. Responsible for on-call one night a week and one weekend a month.

Responsible for the evaluation of patients to determine eligibility for bone marrow transplant, following the guidelines in the clinical trial protocol. Required to understand the clinical trials and meet with the bone marrow transplant and leukemia/lymphoma attending physicians once a week to discuss the care and management of patients currently enrolled. Management of patients during bone marrow transplant course, and follow-up visits with those who have undergone transplant. Trained in the highly technical skills of lumbar puncture and bone marrow biopsy/aspirates. Assist in the OR for bone marrow harvests.
