Wilbur Ellis AgVerdict 2014– 2022

Lead Developer (2016–2022)

Designed and produced an API framework in C# integrating business units into a presentation supporting the decision process. Integrated multiple factors, including farm management, inventory, pests, product demand prediction, and sales. Developed an in-memory graph C# database with millisecond latency to achieve name management in a hierarchy of blocks and subblocks, farms, fields, and growers with commodity varieties for the user interface of the application. Designed and published a large-scale Python framework to manage the PostGres database.

Principal Engineer (2014–2016)

Selected and hired five developers for the software team. Supervised the personnel and ensured engineering excellence. Utilized MATLAB to develop the original modeling concepts from which the team developed and supplied big data GIS analytics for agronomy data from the harvester/applicator/seeder level. Projected future activities, fertilizer/pesticide prescriptions, and conducted free-form analyses for defined data relationships. Presented two patent applications for innovative algorithms as a result of GIS analyses of raster data.

The patent applications included a method to accelerate IDW4 Interpolation by 4-16 times; simulating Kriging using the IDW algorithm; a single linkage density shifting algorithm for zone creation to support the creation of raster zones following laminar flow artifacts in the raster; and utilizing GPU computing to calculate raster expressions for prediction and multi raster analysis faster and more efficiently.
