Santander Belize Limited Power Plant Operator April 2015 to 2023

A power plant operator’s main duty includes the distribution of power supply to necessary equipment for the processing of sugar cane. Additional duties include the monitoring of the turbine and the collection of Data as per day to day Operation. These include and not limited to Synchronization to the National Grid and to Emergency Generators as well as Load and voltage monitoring, Temperature and oil levels for High Pressure Controlling Units. Installation of new electrical equipment and hourly checks to pumps and valves, other duties also include assisting with servicing of motors of various horse powers, servicing of drills, grinders, AC units, and any other equipment on the compound as per instructed. Assist with Instrumentation and Controls along with Modification to networks and connections.

Plant Operator Belize Electricity Limited (FORTIS BELIZE) March 2005 to January 2013

As an operator we are responsible to maintain a safe and functioning Power Plant, be vigilant in plant operation, and make sure everything is in working order. The primary and most immediate job of the operator is to ensure proper distribution and synchronization of the generators to the National Grid. In other words, supply Electricity to the country of Belize at the request of BEL ( National Grid Controller). The Operator is also responsible for any personnel in the Plant and their safety and tasks, he must manage numerous projects simultaneously within guidelines and safety restrictions, make sure safety procedures for the protection of the plant is followed at all times. Overall, to manage the facility with efficiency and confirm functionality of all Equipment therein, logging and documentation of Data in detail, prepare work orders on request and oversee the thorough completion of tasks successfully were all part of our routine plus any other duties laid upon by senior personnel as the need arises.

Assistant Mechanic Dawson’s Mechanic Shop January 1993 to January 1994

Duties included mostly brake jobs, installation, and alignments of engines, securing and accounting of car parts, tool room keeper, and parts preparation for re-use and any other task needed.
