To whom it may concern,
I am an avid educator who has now entered the role of assistant principal at HIVE Preparatory. Having taught English Language Arts for the last seven years, it is sad to note how my teaching days are essentially over. I would like to use my experience and skillset to continue helping develop students into fine writers and communicators. As a Language Arts teacher at HIVE Preparatory for grades 6 through 8, my students’ reading and writing proficiency levels showed consistent growth every year. The 7th grade students increased their proficiency and text-based evidence writing from 67 percent to 87 percent in three years while the 8th grade students increased their proficiency from 64 percent to 81 percent. In addition to the instruction, I believe the connections and strong rapport led to the success because teaching starts with creating trust. I serve as a mentor for students and the teaching staff as well. I love the idea of entering a college setting to further utilize my teaching skillset. Thank you, and I look forward to this possible opportunity.
Sincerely,
Sergio Bonilla
