Academic Experience

Took a course titled Corrections 320: Race, Class, and Gender in a Correctional Context, which examined the role of race, class, and gender within the institutional correctional community. Learned that the United States of America is a hierarchical nation composed of many different classes and ethnic groups of people in which the upper classes of society seek to maintain their privilege and dominance over disadvantaged groups by restricting their access to economic, social, and educational opportunities.

Work Experience

Volunteered at the New York Common Pantry in the fall of 2015, packaged meals, and served them to the poor and all the people that were in need.

Served food to the poor at the Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen in the summer of 2016.

Worked for Citymeals on Wheels in the summer of 2016 and delivered meals to elderly citizens that were physically incapable of obtaining the meals themselves.

Delivered packages for Drug-Free World during the Summer of 2017.

Installed fire alarms as an intern with the American Red Cross during the Summer of 2019.

Worked as a stocker at Five Below during the Fall of 2019.

Worked as a stocker at Dollar Tree from February, 2020 to February, 2022.

Started working as a warehouse package handler at United Parcel Service in January of 2022.

Leadership Activity

Joined the APPLE Corps program (Academic Preparation Program for Law Enforcement) which is a program with John Jay College and the New York Police Department that provides financial benefits, highly educational classes, and an abundance of opportunities to help students gain experience and become further engaged in the field of law enforcement.

Traveled to the neighborhoods of Brownsville, Sunset Park, and Greenpoint of Brooklyn, New York in the summer of 2015 to study the difference in crime rates and lifestyles between the boomers and millennials. The purpose of this project was to teach how to gather information.
