Accomplishments
Completed a capstone project at Rutgers University titled Screening for Obstructive Sleep Apnea in a Primary Care Setting Using the STOP-BANG Tool.
The purpose of this quality improvement project was to exemplify the need for the implementation of an evidenced-based screening in a primary care setting to help identify individuals who are likely to develop obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).
This quality improvement project helped identify over 50% of volunteered subjects who were at risk to develop OSA. High risk individuals received further evaluation with polysomnography studies. On August 14, 2017, the American Health Council awarded me as one of the top nurses in the state of New Jersey for exemplary achievement, dedication, and contributions to the Healthcare Industry.
