Duties, Accomplishments and Related Skills:
As a DMI clerk I am task with the issue and receiving of GFM (government funded material) for the different projects in the ship yard. I am also task with receiving and working reports for e-use material, and MPR's. I am task with facilitating safety classes to government,and contract workers. I am task with receiving and the issue of traggers in shop stores 98. I am the battery cage custodian. I am task with working with shop stores 09a, and 50a in the issue of bar metal, and angle iron. I am task with receiving traggers for haz-mat material, and issuing of that material from building 297.
Knowledgeable of the work procedures relating to ship operations. Worked in a warehouse environment with poor lighting conditions in varies areas. Occasionally worked outdoors to move items between warehouses in areas that were hot, cold, drafty and damp. Work was performed on hard surfaces and regularly required standing, stooping, bending, reaching, stretching, pushing, pulling and lifting up to 50 pounds. Required to wear safety clothing and equipment appropriated for the job and work area where assigned by Safety and Health Requirements. Knowledgeable of warehouse plans and procedures to independently, load/unload material. Physically capable of lifting 40 pounds or more. Used weight handle equipment when required. Ensured that the containers had the right type of packaging materials or devices in order to prevent shifting or breakage of material being shipped. My duties are performed with little or no supervision. I am also the Level- 1 custodain, trained in the handling, and issue of level-1 material.
Compared item with shipping documents and verified stock, quantity, weight, unit of issue and condition for accurate shipping. Reseach and develop clear, distinctive, descriptive, patterns to differentiate characteristics and provide precise, identification for purchase of material. Scheduled and coordinated carrier pickup and delivery of freight. Ability to communicated orally and in writing.
Followed proper safety procedures when operating forklift trucks according to regulations. Performed duties as a Stevedore. Started the work pace, demonstrating proper safe and work methods by obtaining necessary materials and tools. Received, loaded and unloaded and processed incoming shipments. Followed procedures in reporting overage, shortage, misdirected, or damaged materials.
Packed and preserved a variety of items determining the materials, containers, devices and preservative if needed. Assembled items for shipment in the loading area according to information provided on the shipping requests and checks the condition of shipping containers prior to loading.
Ensured shipments are properly loaded onto the right conveyances. Counted types and quantities of items during inventories, and maintained tally listings during the count. lifting capacity of up to 20, 000 pounds, warehouse tractor, or general purpose vehicle. Operated 25K
forklift equipment (MHE) and stock selectors to move material. Experience in OSHA labeling and MSDS sheets and HAZMAT materials. In absent of Stevedore Supervisor I gave instructions to Blockers and Bracers, Riggers and Crane Operators Knowledgeable of the work procedures relating to ship operations.
